According to Tom Moore of Calkins Media, Tony Wroten will fly out to California tomorrow to see a specialist about his right knee sprain.
Wroten re-aggravated the knee in the Sixers loss to the Hawks last week, and has missed the last 4 games because of it. He did not travel with the team to either Toronto or Detroit.
Wroten initially injured his right knee against the Nets on November 26th and missed the next 6 games. The knee then caused him to miss the Sixers road win against Miami on December 23rd. In all, Wroten has missed 11 games due to complications with the injury.
Brown had initially brought up the possibility that Wroten would be sent to California to see a specialist after the Sixers game against the Pelicans. At the time, it sounded like something that could be more than just a couple of games.
Wroten is leading the team in scoring with a career-high 16.9 points per game while also adding 5.2 assists per night.

The Sixers just signed Covington from the D-League on November 15th to a deal that could reportedly total just over $4.1 million over 4 years. Covington won the D-League's rookie of the year last season for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Jason Richardson's Birthday
Jason Richardson, far and away the elder statesmen on this Sixers team, turned 34 today.
The Sixers players, of course, had a little fun with this.
Richardson did get another birthday present: he participated in non-contact basketball drills for the first time since suffering a stress fracture in his foot during training camp.
Richardson is on the final year ($6.6 million) of his contract.
