The Sixers took a lot of pictures at Media Day. This is how humor works.

Every day should be Media Day. I'm so glad it's not the Lockout anymore and we have things like this. Picture titles and captions from above.

Damien Wilkins: "I'm Damien Wilkins."

Andrew Bynum Shoulder Ball: "We're photoshopping this later to make the ball my head. Only with my eyes and facial hair and fro and stuff."

Royal Ivey Grimace: "Uhhh."

Charitable Dan Gadzuric: "I have no idea what to do with this."

Evan Turner Face: "I got better at shooting this summer. Seriously."

Spencer Hawes Headshot: "Hi my name is Spencer and I'll be auditioning for the part of Starsky."

Nick Young Muscle Ball: "It's not my real muscle. That's a basketball."

This Is My Really Happy Arnett Moultrie Face: "I just woke up."

Xavier Silas Teeth: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Constipated Jrue Holiday: "I shouldn't have eaten so many basketballs."

Mikki Moore!: "Mikki Moore!"

Jason Smith In A Handicapped Parking Lot: (none needed)

Lethal Weapon 24: "No man I said arms folded."

Then possibly a Front Office position on the horizon?

It's been no surprise that the Sixers front office is in love with Doug Collins. Reports from all over have Doug as the ultimate decision-maker regardless of title, and with the Andrew Bynum acquisition, it's become increasingly difficult to question their choices -- simplicity of the Tony DiLeo hiring included. So it's without much reaction that we present to you the news that Dougie will be around for at least one more year.

Okay. There's something to be said for consistency in the head coach, especially for a franchise that had gone through about a billion since Larry Brown left (missin u chris ford). For guys in their third years with Collins -- namely Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner, and Jrue Holiday -- this is good news for their development. A lot less to worry about when you don't have to adjust to a new coach every year.

The bigger question is what happens after that. And it may be answered.

Doug will be 62 by the time his contract expires and he's already shown a penchant for upper management. Maybe all those text messages and court sweating are finally taking a toll on the guy. He's gone on record as saying he's a "Sixer for life", but with DiLeo as the GM for the foreseeable future, does Doug have a place in the Sixers Front Office? Maybe in that same advisory capacity that Rod Thorn is currently in?

In any event, congrats to Doug for another year. Hopefully Mr. Bynum and two healthy knees will be along for the ride.

Hey, Media I know them!

Get your balls and pens and Derek Bodners ready -- we've got some answers to mock and choices to question. Pre-season media day is usually infinitely less exciting than NBA Draft Media Day (mandatory favorite article I've ever written link) but now that BYNUM, I'm titillated by the prospect of any Sixers coverage at all. Derek will be in attendance and will report any updates in this storystream. Keep checking back for news on Dorell Wright's boxers/briefs decision.

I'm hoping to hear if Doug Collins or Tony DiLeo has anything more concrete about the starting lineup. The 2-guard and power forward spots are up for grabs, with Jason Richardson and Dorell Wright competing for the former while Spencer Hawes and Thaddeus Young box each other out (poorly) for the latter. At this point I'd guess J-Rich and Hawes start, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Tom Ziller has the 13 lies every fanbase will hear from Media Day. Which one do you think is the most Sixers? I have this one:

8. "[So-and-so] took 50,000 jumpers this summer." This is code for "[so-and-so]'s jumper is extremely broken, so we told him to shoot a lot instead of getting a shooting coach for him. We have no idea what we're doing."

Sound familiar?
