The reigning G-League champions stay active. The Sixers announced Friday night that the Delaware Blue Coats have traded for Darius Bazley in exchange for a 2024 first-round G League draft pick.

Bazley, 23, was a first-round pick in 2019, taken 23d and playing his first four seasons in Oklahoma City for the Thunder. He was dealt to the Phoenix Suns at last year’s trade deadline for former Sixer Dario Saric. He signed with the Nets over the summer but failed to make the team in training camp, before signing with Bucks’ affiliate Wisconsin Herd.
He’ll fit right in with Delaware. At 6-foot-8, he’s an athletic wing who has yet to develop an offensive game at the NBA level. He’s a career 31% three-point shooter on 3.3 attempts per game.
He only played eight games for a Suns team that was starved for depth down the stretch last season, and shot 25% on only one three-pointer a game.
So while it’s unlikely to see him up with the Sixers, the Coats have added a wing with a ton of NBA experience.
