Well, illness seems to be going around the Sixers right now. The team's already tough Friday night game against the 14-4, top-of-the-East Celtics looks like it could be getting even tougher.

Tyrese Maxey is now listed as questionable due to illness. As Adrian Wojnarowski added, the Sixers are planning to re-evaluate Maxey at the arena closer to game time.

Of course, Maxey now joins Joel Embiid on the injury report, who also remains listed as questionable after being a late scratch from Wednesday’s game against the Pelicans due to illness.

We've spent years seeing how different the Sixers are at both ends of the floor whenever Embiid is out, but Maxey's absence for this team has an increasingly major impact, too. He's made a leap to true All-Star level this, averaging career-highs of 27 points and 6.7 assists per game with excellent efficiency (a 59.6 true shooting percentage).

Without Maxey’s ball-handling, three-level shot creation and playmaking, it could be a rough night for the Sixers’ offense against a Celtics team with the second-best defense in the NBA. Especially if Embiid still isn’t able to make a return.
