It’s a very special bonus episode of The Gastroenteritis Blues, as this week Emily, Dan and Steve are joined by NBC Sports Philadelphia commentator and broadcaster Alaa Abdelnaby.

Alaa discusses his playing career and what it was like going to the Western Conference Finals and the Finals in his first two professional seasons — including what it was like to face off against Michael Jordan in the Finals. Then he tells the hosts about the ways he and his on-air partner Marc Zumoff have honed their chemistry over the years, what it was like to call games for a 10-72 team, which Process Sixers he keeps up with most, and what it’s been like to call games during the pandemic. He then shares his thoughts on this year’s Sixers team and tells us why he thinks Philadelphia has what it takes to win it all. Alaa also takes the time to share a special shout-out to Sixers fans as he discusses the reason behind the Sixers’ massive home court advantage.

Enjoy!
