As the 2021-22 NBA regular season commences, fans don’t give the Philadelphia 76ers or their franchise superstar, Joel Embiid, much of a chance to make permanent waves throughout the league this year.

In this week’s SB Nation Reacts poll, 3% of voters tabbed the Sixers to win the East, which ranked seventh overall among the conference’s 15 teams. The Brooklyn Nets led the way in garnering 42% of votes, followed closely by the Milwaukee Bucks at 34%.

Despite Embiid’s runner-up MVP finish last season, only 6% of voters selected him to win the award this year — sixth among all candidates, including “other,” which received 11% of votes. Luka Doncic sat atop the poll at 23%, while Giannis Antetokounmpo was on heels at 20%.
