Glenn Robinson III left the Philadelphia 76ers scrimmage against the Oklahoma City Thunder early and headed to the locker room after taking a spill along the sideline during the game. According to Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Robinson is suffering from a hip pointer. As of this writing, it is unclear if Robinson will return for the 2nd half.
Robinson is not the only Sixers casualty since the start of play in the bubble. Joel Embiid sat out of Sunday afternoon’s scrimmage against the Thunder as a precautionary measure after experiencing discomfort in his right calf during the Sixers’ scrimmage against the Memphis Grizzlies. Going under the radar due to the news about Embiid was that Raul Neto also sat out against the Thunder due to tightness in his lower back.
These injuries could be the norm early on during the restart. Nothing prepares an athlete’s body for competition like the real thing. During these seeding games, it’s important the Sixers monitor these flare ups and act proactively before a nagging injury turns into something more significant.
