After not playing the 2nd half of the Sixers’ first scrimmage in the bubble against the Memphis Grizzlies, Joel Embiid will sit out of Sunday’s scrimmage against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The most natural response here as a Sixers fan is to stroll over to your corner liquor store, invest half your life savings into their inventory, and spiral into an existential crisis. What does it all mean? The Sixers, though, are calling this a precautionary measure, so I urge you to wait and see with optimism.
On one hand, I’m expecting lots of soft tissue injuries and muscle soreness throughout this bubble but especially early on. On the other, ‘precautionary measure’ is to ‘Sixers injuries’ as “just one” is to anyone who’s ever opened a bag of chips. Here’s to hoping for a swift recovery.
