Good news has been in short supply across practically all walks of life in the year 2020. So we will absorb any we can get like a long draw of water from a desert oasis, which brings me to today’s announcement from the NBA and NBPA:
Official release from the league and the union on zero NBA players out of 346 tested for the coronavirus since July 13 returning a positive test pic.twitter.com/fAKTQv4WF4

Great news. Zero reported positive COVID-19 tests within the Orlando bubble environment during the past week. Kudos to the league for creating as safe an environment as possible under these circumstances, and to the players, staff, and campus employees who are doing everything in their power to follow the rules to keep everyone healthy.
Many people were understandably skeptical that the NBA would able to pull this season restart off in a way that ensured the safety and health of all parties involved. While there is still a long way to go, this news is an extremely positive early indicator that it can be done.
Basketball returns this week, and if this trend continues, it won’t be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Disney might truly be the most magical place on Earth.
