It has now been two-and-a-half weeks since our last taste of NBA basketball, and we’re all in the deep throes of that roundball withdrawal. To help pass the time during another afternoon without professional sports, Sixers big man Kyle O’Quinn hopped on the NBA’s offical Twitter account for a brief Q&A. Let’s get to some of the highlights:
Michael Beasley. Just pure comedy, speaks his mind, but always in a professional, respectful, outrageous way.

While I’m a little disappointed to know a Sixers teammate doesn’t merit Kyle’s mantle of “funniest,” it’s hard to argue with Michael Beasley, who once sent us all down an existential spiral pondering the limits of the human brain.
It was super fun. It was big for me obviously, personally, but it was really big for my university (Norfolk State), which means more. And it really put my school on the map and ultimately brought that team together for life. It was a really cool experience to be a part of. - Kyle https://t.co/hX9yYbgbE2

At the time, O’Quinn’s 15-seed Norfolk State team upsetting the 2-seed Missouri Tigers was just the sixth time that a 15-over-2 upset had occurred in NCAA tournament history. However, it wasn’t even the best 15-over-2 upset that tournament (Lehigh beating Duke over everything). Still, what a memory for Kyle and his college teammates. I miss March Madness.
We went on a run one time and the other team called a timeout, and I was kind of the spark behind it and then they put my mom on the Jumbotron. That had me rolling.

I don’t know if this is the same time with his mom as the one Kyle was talking about, but this tweet alone may be my favorite NBA moment in at least the last two-and-a-half weeks.

Life is good. I think me and him, you know I always credit us being four-year players in college. We kind of connect on that. I think a smile is just contagious to everybody, no matter what you’re going through. If somebody smiles, it rubs off a little bit.

One thing we can all agree on: Matisse Thybulle’s smile is something contagious that I wouldn’t mind catching. Stay safe, everybody.
