On whether the win came from being at home again…

It sure seems to help. We do love playing at home. We’ve always got great memories coming back here and we are sort of used to winning at home. We love playing in front of our crowd and we feel a responsibility to perform in front of that crowd. Just after our losing on the road, it does feel good to come back and win.

On what impressed him the most about Furkan Korkmaz tonight…

I liked his defense. We are all going to remember his shooting, and it’s true, because he hit some timely shots. I think that when you take a deep dive into the tapes, like we have, and you come back from the road, playing against East royalty in the last three games, people that used to pick on him don’t pick on him as much. People that put him in pick-and-rolls don’t do it as much…When they try to, he’s solid on leveling people, in moving his feet, showing his hands, chesting and all that. Of course, his scoring was needed, and I thought his teammates, especially Ben, did a really good job of finding him. I thought holistically he was pretty good.

On what’s next for Josh Richardson after his return tonight…

I don’t know. I go back and I’m sort of a prisoner to the minute restrictions that somebody gives me. So, you have a sum of money, you have a sum of minutes and you figure out how to spend it. What I do know is, I reverse-engineer it and how do I make sure I can end a game with him. I don’t want to spend all of my money in the first three periods. When you take the number and you try and figure it out, that sometimes may not mean starting. It’s hard to start somebody if you have a frugal amount of minutes. You just can’t piecemeal that and walk that down. You can’t do it. Coming off the bench allows me to end games with him and still satisfy the medical requirements. I will learn more about that in the next few days.

Ben Simmons

On getting back on track after a difficult week…

It’s good. We needed this. We stayed tight in the locker room, it’s one thing we do well, ups and downs. When times are tough, you’ve gotta stick together and I think we’re doing a good job with that. Obviously, we didn’t get the results we wanted last week, but we rebounded tonight and that’s a step in the right direction.

On having Josh Richardson’s support in games…

Definitely. He’s a very talkative person on the court, so that helps defensively and offensively, he just knows his game. He plays well. He’s a tough player. He’s able to score the ball and make a lot of plays.

On what surprised him the most about Furkan Korkmaz’s performance tonight…

Not much. I mean, I expect him to do that. I believe in him so much every time that he shoots the ball. That’s just the way I feel about all my teammates. I mean if he [pointing to Tobias Harris] was doing the same thing, I wouldn’t be shocked. These guys put in the work and it’s going to pay off. So I’m glad he had a night, the night he had was huge. And when you’ve got guys who are ready and stay ready, it just helps so much, especially when you have confidence in them.

On winning tonight’s game…

Everybody came, everybody brought that spirit to the court and everybody helped each other. I feel like as a team, we looked really good on the court.

On playing after a tough week on the road…

For us it was a tough week. Today was really important. We just got back to home, we tried to play hard, and I think we did. Everybody was focused. Today we showed our spirit to everybody, which we needed to show. I think as team, we looked good out there.

Tobias Harris

On playing at home versus the road…

I think we have to bring that energy and focus when we’re on the road. I think we’ve got a lot of road games that we haven’t been able to execute and just have that type of spark that we have at home. As we continue to go on the road and play and know that we’re going to play these games on the road, we have to find that energy and we have to find that spark as we continue to progress.

On what the team tries to focus on before they get to the break…

I think we just want to get our spirit up and get our morale up as a team. We want to figure out, going into the break, kind of having the confidence and being ready to come back and put things together and make a really good run. Obviously, we want to be ready on the road. We’re not playing road games until after the break, but at home, we really want to solidify ourselves and hold our team identity on the defensive end, which I thought in today’s game we did a good job of up until fourth quarter.

On his thoughts on Alec Burks

Just a great player. I came into the league with him and at the same time. He’s a great scorer, great guy, off the bounce that’s able to get a bucket. I think just his dynamic and his quickness on the floor, his ability to score, is going to help us a whole lot. I’m excited to play with him and also Glenn Robinson III, too.

Taylor Jenkins

On what happened tonight…

Tonight, they come out and set the tone defensively which really took us out of our game, especially getting into the paint. We couldn’t really get anything going. I thought Simmons, and obviously Korkmaz, had an unbelievable game. We just didn’t really have an answer, so credit to them. But proud of our guys in the fourth quarter to kind of dig down and have some fight. But they all recognize that we definitely need to be a whole lot better from the start.

On the team’s mentality preparing for the game...

We talked so much about how there’s gotta be individual pride, especially with the pace of play and how Simmons plays. We knew there was going to be a physicality behind this game, whether Embiid’s on the floor or not. They took full advantage and then you get the guys shooting the three at a high level. Obviously, Horford in the second half, that fourth quarter, when we were kind of making a run, he kind of just cemented the win for them. So, when you’ve got that balance of playing with force and getting downhill, and then you can back it up with some big time three-point shooting, it makes it tough to get through.

On the team’s mentality going into the All-Star break…

We’ve just got to keep doing what we’ve been doing for the most part of the season, especially with this recent stretch here, month-plus. We’ve just got to get better and that’s the main focus. Our guys have been competing at a pretty high level. In selfishness, there’s definitely things we’ve got to clean up. We’ve been trending a little better defensively. Tonight, we just didn’t have it, but how can we just be more consistent and that’s that ‘get better’ mentality. We’ll have a film session tomorrow, we’ve got two more games and we’ll just continue to make steps in a positive direction. I think we have like 28 games or so after the All-Star break and that’s when everyone, not just us, all teams are taking it to another level and we’ve got to recognize that. But we’ve still got two games left to go make some push here.

Jonas Valanciunas

On if he’s shocked by the way the team has played so far this season…

We’re playing to do that. We’re trying hard, everything’s turned out well and there’s good guys on the team … We just can’t stop. Today was a tough one, but in general we have to keep going and do our job.

On what the team has to do going forward…

Just be the same team, but even better. We’ve got to make the playoffs and make a big run. We started not so well, then we picked it up, and we have to play at the same level like we picked it up … we have such a young group in the locker room, so we’re improving every day. It’s been a process for us, but we just got to get it on.

On Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant

They’re great young guys. Their work ethic is good, they’re in every night shooting and getting their skills better and IQ better … they’re phenomenal young gentlemen.
