Schedule Analysis

The Sixers have 27 games reaming. One-third of the season. Remember two years ago when they started the season 25-25?. Sixers won their last 16 in a row, against mostly bad teams, to become serious eastern conference contenders.

The last 20 games this year look very similar. 15 of those games are against teams that are below .500. And of the five games against wining teams, only ONE is on the road - Memphis!. That's right, 15 losing teams, four home games and one a road game against Memphis, who they just crushed. They could be favored in every one.

But, there is one big roadblock before reaching the "last 20". The next seven games include the three toughest games of the year - @Bucks, @LAClippers and @LAL (along with 4 very winnable games). Can they come out that stretch 4-3 and win 17 of those last 20? But this team has shown a very annoying penchant for losing road games to lottery teams (Atl, Wash, Pho). Don't rip up those over 54.5 tickets just yet.

What does it matter? Well, for one, the Sixers are 2 losses behind Miami for home court advantage in the 4-5 match-up. That could be big. And they are 5 losses behind Boston for the 3 seed (to meet Indiana?). A big deficit, but you never know.
