Tracking the Sixers rotation in game one: Shake Milton closes game in place of Danny Green

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Washington Wizards 113-107 in the Sixers’ season opener. We’ll have a recap and Bell Ringer up shortly. Notes

• Shake Milton was rock solid as a 6th man. Great all around game and he was rewarded by Doc Rivers by closing out the game with the starters sans Danny Green.
• Tyrese Maxey looked like a veteran at times running point on the 2nd unit. Kid can play.
• The starters are going through growing pains. It looked ugly at times, but I’m not worried.
• Matisse Thybulle did not crack the rotation until there were 42.2 seconds left in the game, being subbed in for defense with the Sixers up 4. The Wizards have a big bench, with Moritz Wagner, Davis Bertans and Robin Lopez coming in off the pine. Maybe Matisse eats up a few of Mike Scott’s minutes when the Sixers player smaller bench units. But at least for now, it seems ‘Tisse is an odd man out and will need Korkmaz to go cold from the floor before Thybulle sees more action.
