Undrafted free agent, and Sixers’ Summer League participant, Christ Koumadje have agreed to a one year-deal per Michael Scotto of The Athletic. The center from FSU and Chad native was a former high school teammate of Ben Simmons. During his final and senior year at FSU, Koumadje averaged 6.6 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 blocks per game, in 15.5 minutes played per game. The team should now have one roster spot left to hunt for someone like Kyle Korver. Sixers fans can now have fun saying things like “I saw Christ drop a double-double in summer league vs. Oklahoma.”

The big will now allow Elton Brand and the collaborative front office to complete their dream of having the biggest roster anyone has ever seen. With Boban Marjanovic now in Dallas, the Sixers felt they needed another gargantuan player and Koumadje, at 7’4, certainly fit the bill.

It seems unlikely the Sixers will rely on Koumadje to play a key role during the playoffs this coming season, but they did not seem to mind using numerous roster spots for backup centers last season. Maybe the strategy will become more clear as time goes on. Zag when other teams Zig, isn’t that the contrarian way a former GM once preached?

According to our Adam Aaronson, it doesn’t even seem likely that Koumadje is going to make the final roster for the regular season. Take a look at this interesting thread:
