Sixers trade 34th pick to Atlanta for 57th pick and two future second-rounders

So much for bench depth

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers-Press Conference Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Sixers had two early second-round picks entering the night. 33rd overall was used to move up from 24th to 20th, and now, 34th has been shipped to Atlanta.

Many folks in Philadelphia were likely crushed when Carsen Edwards was taken with that 33rd pick by the Celtics, but plenty of potential first-round grade talent was still on the board, highlighted by intriguing prospect Bol Bol.

Getting two future picks, including the best of three teams’ picks in 2023, isn’t terrible as far as optionality goes, but 33 and 34 were juicy spots in this draft, and the Sixers not coming away with a player in either of those positions is disappointing. More to come.
