Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, who has been Toronto’s second-best player this year in both the regular season and playoffs, was listed on Saturday afternoon’s injury report as doubtful for tomorrow’s Game 4 with a calf injury.
Down 2-1 and playing on the road, this is the most important game of the season for the Raptors, so one would imagine that it would take a significant injury to keep Siakam sidelined.
Being doubtful in the playoffs is much different from being doubtful in the regular season. As we’ve seen first-hand with Joel Embiid, being doubtful is very far from being ruled out once it’s the postseason. There also is a chance that this is a bit of gamesmanship on Toronto’s part, trying to keep the Sixers on their toes. But a budding star showing up as doubtful on the injury report with a new injury the day before the biggest game of the season can only be considered brutal news for the Raptors.
