Joining Embiid on the All-Defensive Second Team is Jrue Holiday (Guard, New Orleans Pelicans), Klay Thompson (Guard, Golden State Warriors), Draymond Green (Forward, Golden State Warriors), and Kawhi Leonard (Forward, Toronto Raptors).
The NBA’s All-Defensive First Team honorees were Rudy Gobert (Center, Utah Jazz), Paul George (Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Forward, Milwaukee Bucks), Marcus Smart (Guard, Boston Celtics), and Eric Bledsoe (Guard, Milwaukee Bucks).

While Joel was the only Sixer named to an All-Defensive team, Ben Simmons received two second team votes and Jimmy Butler received two first team votes and five second team votes.
