As the Sixers prepare to take on the Bucks this evening, the rest of the world is left in the dark as to who will actually play. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, JJ Redick, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are all listed as questionable for tonight’s game:
#Sixers injury report: @JoelEmbiid (left knee tendinitis), @JimmyButler (back tightness) and JJ Redick (left quad contusion) are questionable for tonight’s game vs. #Bucks. @JamesDa_Truth is out (right quad contusion). -@PompeyOnSixers
This is a weird game. On one hand, the Sixers are on a back-to-back, the Bucks are very good, and Joel Embiid may not play. All of those factors could convince one that the Sixers aren’t going to beat the Bucks no matter who else suits up, so best to give most of the starters the night off. On the other hand, the Bucks are banged up themselves and the Sixers need two wins to secure the 3rd seed in the East with only four games left, so for some the idea of giving up a game is dumbfounding.
UPDATE (5:45 pm): Jimmy Butler and James Ennis are out for tonight’s game. Joel Embiid is still questionable. JJ Redick is active. All updates per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
