The Sixers are in Oklahoma City this evening to take on the Thunder. Without Joel Embiid, the game seemed nearly destined for a less-than-favorable outcome for Philly. However, the Thunder now too will be without their most impactful player. According to Royce Young of ESPN, Paul George will not play in tonight’s game:
Paul George is out tonight against the 76ers (right shoulder soreness).- @royceyoung
With George inactive, the Sixers’ chances of stealing a road victory increase significantly. In fact, since first installing the Thunder as 7.5-point favorites, Vegas has dropped the spread to OKC -4.0 on account of George being listed as out. While Vegas isn’t perfect, the fact that a single player’s absence induces a 3.5-point swing testifies on behalf of the insanely good season George is having. The Thunder are a good team even without their MVP, but the Sixers will look to capitalize on what should be a fortunate break.
