The Philadelphia 76ers continue their tour of the Golden Coast tonight, as they take on the Sacramento Kings in the fourth and final game of the Sixers’ current road trip. Philly is fresh off an impressive victory in Oakland, topping the Warriors 113-104 as Joel Embiid racked up 26 points and 20 rebounds. The Sixers are 2-1 so far on their trip west, and pocketing three wins would be nothing short of impressive.
The Sacramento Kings hover just above .500 in what has been a surprisingly strong season by Kings standards. But while things are looking up in Sactown, they find themselves a game-and-a-half back of the 8th seed in the Western Conference. The home stretch of the NBA regular season is on the horizon, and the city of Sacramento can smell two home playoff games against the Golden State Warriors.
The Kings will look to benefit from the Sixers’ thin active roster, as starters JJ Redick and Wilson Chandler will not be suiting up. In lieu of the aforementioned absences, Shake Milton has traveled to Sacramento with the Sixers (h/t Keith Pompey), so he may get some run. Starting for Redick and Chandler are Landry Shamet and Mike Muscala, respectively (h/t Keith Pompey).
The best part of tonight’s game? It’s a win-win. Not really, but sort of. If the Sixers win, terrific for them. If the Sixers lose, the Kings pick that is in all likelihood going to convey to the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft decreases in value ever so slightly.
