Elton Brand has commented on the Joel Embiid/Karl-Anthony Towns altercation that took place during last night’s Sixers vs. Timberwolves game, according to Adrian Wojnarowski:
Sixers GM Elton Brand: "First and foremost, we obviously don’t condone the altercation that happened last night.

As a former player, I have experienced situations like that in the past. I understand how our players reacted in the moment. I have their backs."
A+ reaction from Brand here in my book: look we don’t encourage this behavior but... my guys ain’t no bitches.
Woj also reported that the Sixers are arguing to the League office that Towns was initially responsible for the altercation and that Ben Simmons was attempting to break up the fight, not make it worse:
Sources: Sixers and Brand are communicating to the NBA that they believe KAT was the aggressor in the scuffle with Joel Embiid. Also, they've "doubled-down" on referee assessment that Simmons was peacemaker --- and delivered that message to league office too. https://t.co/JOdGrWgeiC

It’s going to be very interesting to see how the NBA handles the fallout from this incident. Suspensions are likely imminent, but how harsh they’ll be is tough to know.
