Anticipation was high for tonight’s Sixers open scrimmage at the Palestra. How would Markelle Fultz’s revamped jump shot look after a summer working with Drew Hanlen? What about Hanlen’s bully ball work with Joel Embiid in the post? Will Ben Simmons be attempting more jumpers after additional work training with his brother? How will newcomers like Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, and rookie Landry Shamet fit in with the rest of the group? Fans were excited for a first glimpse at the answers to those questions and more. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas.
Tonight’s Blue x White Scrimmage scheduled for The Palestra at the University of Pennsylvania has been postponed due to weather-related issues that have impacted the arena. Out of an abundance of caution for player safety, the 76ers have postponed tonight’s event.

Intense rain in the Philadelphia area made the already-generally-hot Palestra arena extremely humid, causing moisture on the court that made for unsafe playing conditions. Sixers fans might recall the game against the Sacramento Kings in November 2016 being postponed for a similar issue at the Wells Fargo Center. Where’s DeMarcus Cousins when you need him?
