For those Sixers fans hoping a deal for San Antonio star Kawhi Leonard was still a possibility, the latest Woj bomb has blown up your dreams:
ESPN reporting with @ChrisBHaynes: Toronto finalizing a deal to acquire San Antonio star Kawhi Leonard. https://t.co/bzkRsFXXYy

Clearly, the Spurs were not interested in a full rebuild after dealing Leonard and were more receptive to a return including a proven All-Star like DeMar DeRozan. We’ll have to see the full terms of the deal before judging whether either side can be declared a “winner”. However, this nugget of information was plenty interesting:
Leonard and DeRozan are both aware that an agreement could be imminent, and neither is expressing enthusiasm for the deal, league sources said.
Chris Haynes was more explicit on the matter from Leonard’s perspective:
Kawhi Leonard has no desire to play in Toronto, league source tells ESPN.

You know where isn’t Toronto? Philadelphia. Maybe all hope isn’t lost, Sixers fans. If not this summer, then the next.
