This is the 14th and last re-draft in a 14-part series of re-drafts, looking at every NBA draft from 2004 to 2017. Yes, it's way too early to redraft this one, but I did it anyway.
So far, this hasn’t been opinion or one controversial statistic. This re-draft has been based on a formula that includes VORP (value over replacement player), BPM (box plus/minus), WS (win shares), PPG (points per game), contribution (minutes), and shooting percentage (field goal and 3-point).
For these last four re-drafts (2014-17), the data still helps to determine the re-draft order; however, draft position and potential is still taken into consideration. Then the players are placed into categories based on that potential: star potential, starter potential, to be determined, bench. This is the likely category the player will end up within, with four or less seasons, there is still so much unknown. For example, Oladipo was evaluated much differently before and after his fifth season. A lot can still change for these players.
The format is as follows: Re-Draft Position #. Player – Original Draft Position # and Team – Statistics. Also, a team who acquired a player’s rights in a draft day trade is considered the drafting team in our analysis.
