Williams will be leaving his position as the VP of Basketball Operations with the San Antonio Spurs front office, which he held for the past two years.
In February of 2016, Williams stepped aside from the NBA after his wife tragically passed away from a car accident. He returned in August of that year to start the position with the Spurs.
Williams had previously been the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans from 2010-2015 as well as an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers.
It is unclear who will fill the vacancy with the Spurs.
