The Sixers will continue hosting pre-draft workouts at their practice facility this afternoon. Today’s group is rather large, including: Mikal Bridges (Forward, Villanova), Zhaire Smith (Guard, Texas Tech), Marcus Derrickson (Forward, Georgetown), Marcus Foster (Guard, Creighton), Donte Ingram (Forward, Loyola Chicago), Nick King (Forward, Middle Tennessee State) and MiKyle McIntosh (Forward, Oregon).
Out of those players, likely only Bridges and Smith would be players the Sixers would consider selecting with their #10 pick.
Mikal Bridges, who most already know due to his time with Villanova, could provide the Sixers some much needed wing depth. He’s probably as ready as anyone in this draft to play at the NBA level right now.
Zhaire Smith gained a lot of traction coming down the home stretch of the NCAA season. He’s a freakishly athletic guard, but he is still in need of development. I’m not sure he has one skill that you can point at and say, “That will translate to the NBA for sure.” (Other than his pure athletic ability.)
I’m not overly confident that Mikal Bridges is even available at #10. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him selected by Cleveland (#8) or the Knicks (#9). I think Smith is probably available at #10; I can’t see him going any higher unless maybe the Knicks fall in love with him? Doubt it, though.
