Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Brett Brown has discussed a top level assistant role on his coaching staff for Monty Williams. Brown is looking to fill the vacancy that was left when Lloyd Pierce took the head coaching job in Atlanta.
Sixers coach Brett Brown is discussing with Monty Williams a role as top assistant, league sources tell ESPN. Williams is working in the Spurs front office, but has been eager for a return to coaching.

Williams currently serves as the vice president of basketball operations for the San Antonio Spurs, but rumors are that he’d like to get back into coaching. Williams career as a player spanned 9 seasons, playing for the Knicks, Spurs, Nuggets, Magic and Sixers. As a coach, Williams was an assistant with the Portland Trail Blazers (2005-2010), the head coach for the New Orleans Pelicans (2010-2015) and the associate head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder (2015-2016).
