This time-ish 2 years ago, the Sixers were 10-72. They are now 50-30 after beating the Dallas Mavericks 109-97 this afternoon. Fif. Ty. Wins. Surreal.
The game this afternoon was certainly sloppy at times, but the Sixers were able to rack up their 14th straight victory nonetheless. Ben Simmons again was a major factor in the win, compiling 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists, adding 4 steals and a block on the defensive end. The guy falls just short of a triple-double and it’s like, “Eh, alright game for Simmons.”
JJ Redick contributed 18 points to lead the team in that category. Robert Covington added his own 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Dario Saric, in his second game back, still appeared to be adjusting from his absence shooting 4 of 10 from the field, 1 of 5 from 3PT. The homie found other ways to contribute, adding 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
The game was sorta funky. I think it’s the afternoon start. I don’t know.
But uh... 50 WINS. How incredible. This team is so exciting it is overwhelming. Today’s win clinched home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Philadelphia 76ers have home court advantage in the 2018 playoffs. Unreal.
Next game is Tuesday vs. the Atlanta Hawks. They’ll get to 15th straight.
