That’s 8!

With a 118-101 win over the Knicks, the Sixers have now won 8 straight games, and improve to 19-1 in South Philly in the year of 2018, 44-30 overall.

The Sixers were coasting until 20 seconds into the 2nd quarter, when Markelle Fultz collided with Joel Embiid, and Embiid got the butt end of the deal.

Embiid went to the locker room and was diagnosed with a facial contusion, but no concussion.

The Knicks, who were down 9 at the time, stormed back to take a one point lead with a minute left to go in the 1st half.

But the 2nd half was all Sixers, led by Dario Saric. It’s a shame that he’s never coming over since he put up 26/14/5 and 2 steals. He also had one of the greatest hustle plays/passes in the history of the universe.

Ben Simmons naturally flirted with a triple double as he ended with 13/8/10 and a block.

JJ Redick finished with a quiet 21/6/5 and Roco chipped in 17 points and 3 steals in the winning effort.

Richaun Holmes got a large chunk of minutes due to the absence of Joel, and he made the most of it as the Holmie put up 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Overall, a very solid performance in the one quarter with Embiid, and a in the three quarters without him, the rest of the team picked it up and did what they needed to get the win against an inferior team.

Next game for the Sixers is in Atlanta on Friday at 7:30.
