NBA Trade Deadline Open Thread

If you’re an Eagles like me, you haven’t stopped indulging in content related to the SUPER BOWL CHAMPION Philadelphia Eagles. The party continues on Thursday, when there will finally be a parade down Broad Street for the good guys in midnight green. Of course, as that is all going on, the NBA reaches another critical juncture as the trade deadline is finally upon. At 3pm EST, it’s pencils down as GM’s either make transactions for a playoff run or for other short and long term reasons.

While the 76ers have been reportedly on the market for some help on the perimeter, the team doesn’t appear willing to invest too much draft capital on a rental player. Will it be Tyreke Evans? Is Marco Belinelli coming to help on the wing? Will the 76ers get creative in addressing short and long term needs? Will it be as simple as a salary dump? The team does seem keen on making a move. What actually comes to pass, we’ll see over the course of the day.

There are a ton of other story-lines with regards to other NBA teams. The Cleveland Debacle will be something to keep an eye on. There are quite a few playoff caliber teams that will be looking to shore up their roster similar to the 76ers. Other teams starting to rev up their tank will be looking to absorb salary for assets from capped or luxury taxed teams.

With an early trade deadline and cap crunches due to previous frivolous spending a couple off seasons ago, it’s possible that there may not be as much player movement. Either way, this an open thread to share rumors and news on top of discussing all that occurs throughout the day. As many of LB’s contingent may be out with the masses, apologies in advance if we’re slow on the news updates!
