Liberty Ballers All-Star Saturday Night Reaction Thread

Fresh off his brief run in the Rising Stars game, Joel Embiid has his sights set on the Skills Challenge.

Night One of All-Star Weekend is in the books, and if you tuned in last night... we REALLY hope you skipped that dreadful Celebrity Game.

Conversely, the Rising Stars game was pretty darn entertaining. While it quickly devolved into a defense-optional dunkfest (and a 155-124 Team World victory), we saw some amazing performances from Sixers’ representatives Ben Simmons (11 points, 13 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals) and Dario Saric (18 points, including 4-for-7 shooting from deep).

Joel Embiid played just nine minutes (scoring 5 points), but still managed to bless us with a highlight-reel play...

Embiid’s busy weekend continues tonight as he’s slated to take part in Saturday’s Taco Bell Skills Challenge. Big men have taken home the crown in the event each of the past two years (Karl-Anthony Towns in 2016, Kristaps Porzingis last year) - can JoJo make it three in a row?

Tonight’s Schedule (All times Eastern)

  • 7:00 PM - Adam Silver Press Conference (NBA TV)
  • 8:00 PM - State Farm All-Star Saturday Night (TNT)

Taco Bell Skills Challenge
