The Euro Stash: Mathias Lessort Goes Off

Lessort has a career game while Bolden stays consistent.

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers-Press Conference James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

Jonah Bolden-

Drafted 2nd Round 36th Overall 2017 PF/C

Plays for Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv (Euroleague/Israeli Premier League)

In Bolden’s latest game he posted 9 points on 50% splits in every shooting category. He also grabbed 6 rebounds in the contest as Maccabi FOX holds the 8 seed in the Euroleague with a win over Barcelona.

Bolden is still shooting just a mere 33% from deep, which is slightly concerning. But again, there is still abundant time for him to him his stroke and start knocking them down. We have evidence on our team right now that these younger foreign players can acquire the ability to knock down the NBA three. In Dario Saric’s first Euroleague season, he shot 30% from the Euro 3-point line (which is a foot and a half closer than the NBA’s) and then made the huge jump to 40% the next season. Dario is shooting 38% from three this season, and 48% in his last 10 games. So there will always be hope for Jonah as he has the rest of the Euroleague season, hopefully another summer league, and a training camp to become comfortable and consistent from deep.

Mathias Lessort-

Drafted 2nd Round 50th Overall 2017 PF/C

Plays for Crvena Zvezda (Euroleague/Adriatic League)

The Frenchman had himself a game as he sparkplugged Crvena Zvezda to an important win over AC Milan to bring them closer to the top 8 in the league. Lessort finished with 15 and 10 and 6 of those rebounds were on the offensive end. He also continued to show no mercy towards rims all across Europe as he threw down four ferocious dunks for 8 of his 15 points. Lessort was dominate in the post all night, and continued to be a monster on the boards as he has now jumped to the #1 spot in the Euroleague in Offensive Rebounds per game with 3 per game, and 5.95 per 40 minutes.

Anzejs Pasecniks-

Drafted First Round 25th Overall 2017 (acquired from Magic via trade) Center

Plays for Herbalife Gran Canaria (EuroCup/Liga ACB)

Went 5-6 from the field and totaled 13 points and 4 rebounds for Herbalife Gran Canaria, but foul trouble limited him to just 18 minutes.

Vasilije Micic-

Drafted 2nd Round 52nd Overall

Plays for Žalgiris (Euroleague/Lithuanian Basketball League)

Micic STUFFED the stat sheet in his latest game, putting up 2 points on 0-5 shooting from the field, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, and 2 fouls (finished -2). So uhhh… yikes.

The Others:

Speaking of yikes and stat sheets, Hollis Thompson finished with 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist 5 fouls in just 12 minutes of action.

Sergio Rodriguez finally came back down to Earth and went his first game since November 9th in which he did not find the bottom on a three pointer. His 4/3/2 line was not enough for the league leading CSKA Moscow club to find a win against an inferior Valencia Basket squad.

Pierre Jackson is coming off a game where he went 5-7 from three, and 0-2 from two-point range as his 18 points led Maccabi FOX to a victory.

Chukwudiebere Maduabum’s playing time looks like it declining a tad, as he racked up 6 points and 3 rebounds for the Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots in just under 13 minutes of play.

Arturas Gudaitis part one of the pick swap has actually been playing very well for AC Milan as he has been averaging 10 and 6 on the season.
