Sixers Bell Ringer: Game 25

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Philadelphia 76ers Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

For a refresher on what constitutes a Bell Ringer, please reference the initial post.

Bell Ringer Season Standings:

Joel Embiid - 9
Ben Simmons - 5
JJ Redick - 4
Jimmy Butler - 3
Robert Covington - 1
Dario Saric - 1
T.J. McConnell - 1

In a quality win over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Sixers mined contributions from just about everyone who stepped on the court for them. With no one player completely dominating the game, it was a collective team effort from beginning to end.

Jimmy Butler: 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block

For much of the game, Butler seemed to be struggling to find opportunities to contribute on the offensive end. But just as we’re coming to expect from Butler, he turned it on in the fourth quarter. Butler scored 13 of his 21 points in the final frame, shooting 3 of 6 from the floor and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. It’s good to have a closer.

Ben Simmons: 19 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals

From the recap:

Ben Simmons stood out in the game, and looked aggressive in every aspect. Early and often, Simmons took Kyle Anderson into the paint and Simmons had his way. Simmons racked up 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. It was one of the more encouraging outings for Simmons on the season.

JJ Redick: 24 points, 3 rebounds and 3-6 from 3PT

Similar to Jimmy Butler, Redick got off to a slow start. But Redick’s cold start (he made zero of his first five shots) lasted only until the 2nd quarter, when JJ hit 4 of 5 from the field. He followed up his near perfect 2nd quarter with a perfect 3rd quarter, hitting all four of his field goals including a three-pointer.

TJ McConnell: 6 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

McConnell’s box score doesn’t jump out at you. But he gave 31 minutes of high-intensity play with pesky defense. We saw TJ’s patented disruption of an inbound passes after a Sixers’ score, with McConnell forcing a key turnover in the 2nd half. All told, TJ finished the game with a team leading +16.
