Sixers wing Wilson Chandler, acquired from the Denver Nuggets in a trade in July, will be making his regular season Sixers debut this afternoon against the Detroit Pistons.
In the Sixers’ September 28th preseason opener against Melbourne United, Chandler suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to miss over a month.
Sixers Head Coach Brett Brown told reporters that Chandler will start out with a 10-minute restriction, and that he plans to use Chandler for two five-minute stints in the first half. Brown indicated that Chandler’s workload will gradually increase as time goes on, until he has been completely reintegrated into the rotation.
It will be interesting to see how the Sixers free up playing time for Chandler once he is fully healthy- possible candidates to lose playing time include rookie sharpshooter Landry Shamet, who has had multiple standout performances already this season.
