Sixers Bell Ringer: Game 23

Look, an easy win!

NBA: New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

For a refresher on what constitutes a Bell Ringer, please reference the initial post.

Bell Ringer Season Standings:

Joel Embiid - 9
Ben Simmons - 4
JJ Redick - 3
Jimmy Butler - 3
Robert Covington - 1
Dario Saric - 1
T.J. McConnell - 1.

The Sixers did something they haven’t done much this season, easily handling a less talented opponent on their way to a stress-free 117-91 victory over the Knicks.

JJ Redick: 24 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists

Redick was the first wave of this tsunami of Sixers dominance, dropping 14 first quarter points on a perfect 6-6 from the field. The only thing more on-point than his jump shot Wednesday night was his fresh new fade haircut. Redick also reminded folks he’s more than a one-trick pony on the offensive end.

Joel Embiid: 26 points, 14 rebounds, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block

The likes of Enes Kanter and Noah Vonleh were hopelessly outmatched against the big man, who didn’t have the outside shot working, but could establish post position and score down low with ease. Only the Sixers playing well enough to rest the starters early denied Embiid yet another 30-10 game and a potential triple-double bid. He had a beautiful sky hook early in the game, but on his most impressive play of the night, Embiid exhibited Black Swan-like balance with a spin move, while covering ground with his gargantuan steps like a Jaeger from Pacific Rim.

Ben Simmons: 14 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal

Simmons played just 24 minutes in the blowout, but in his limited minutes, he sprayed laser passes all over the court and squashed smaller defenders in the post. This shot seems higher percentage than chucking up a mid-range jumper just to satisfy the public, no?

Mike Muscala: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block

It was a good night for Moose, who drained 2 of his 3 shots from behind the arc, did solid work on the glass, and even flashed some off-the-bounce ability with a baseline drive to the rim.
