Bring Back Hometown Hero Mikal Bridges!

Markelle Fultz is a point guard, not a combo guard. His inability to space the floor and share the court with our #2 star, Ben Simmons, makes his fit on this roster very difficult. This judgement doesn’t come from a place of hate or disgust, I was and still am a fan of the kid. But it is quite obvious he is much more comfortable with the ball in his hands as the initiator than he is playing off the ball. The per 100 possession stats, even with consideration to the sss, of this team are largely positive when one of the other is off the court and putrid when Ben and Kelle share the court. That’s not to say that’s impossible for them to work together but unlikely. The first red flag should have been Kelle’s Below average ft% while shooting well behind the arc with a small sample.

Phoenix needs a point guard and is in the middle of a youth movement that Kelle fits into perfectly. We need a two way wing that fits are defensive concepts and spaces the floor. Ladies and gentleman, I give you Mikal Bridges. He may not have any creation, which this team sorely lacks outside Ben & Jo, but he is like Otto Porter on offense and RoCo on defense. In a wing starved league his fit is harmonious on any team.

Fultz’s value is obvious at its lowest and striking now before it sinks any further would be wise. One way to keep his trade value at its highest is to not play him with Ben anymore. With Kelle’s deflated trade value their need to be more moving parts to such a trade to make sense.

Phoenix also lacks young talent at the PF position. Here’s where you guys will slam me if you haven’t already. It’s time to move Dario. This is necessary for two reasons, he is a defensive liability and he is quite possibly on track for a big payday. I’m not worried about his shot coming around, he’s a notorious slow starter and plays year round causing dead leg at times. Our return on Dario would be analytics draft darling De’anthony Melton.

Not enough, I get it and agree but PHO isn’t trading a draft pick in the middle of a rebuild and they aren’t swapping picks with us and our late first projected pick. So how about swap rights in 2021 with the MIA pick we own where we get the better of the two picks and increase our draft equity. That they may consider since there’s no loss of pick during their rebuild and that they think they’ll be better than Miami shortly. Another hidden advantage in this his trade is additional cap space this upcoming offseason.

And now just for shits and giggles let’s toss Furkan in the deal since we didn’t pick up his option and take back their option-less child Dragan Bender.

Zhaire & Melton guarding the poa. Summon & ?Middleton? initiating the offense. RoCo & Mikal wreaking havoc in the passing lanes with their length and defensive bbiq. JJ & Korver as elite shooters and wily vet presence. Embiid’s continued growth and dominance.
