For a refresher on what constitutes a Bell Ringer, please reference the initial post.
Bell Ringer Season Standings: Joel Embiid - 2; JJ Redick - 2; Ben Simmons - 2; Robert Covington - 1.
A mere 15 minutes or so of quality play was not enough against an Eastern Conference contender in a 129-112 loss. Here are your Bell Ringer candidates:
Joel Embiid: 31 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block
The big man was Philadelphia’s main offensive force for the evening, remarkably reaching the 30-10 mark for the fifth time this season. Embiid tallied four assists to just two turnovers, including one nice feed to Ben Simmons under the basket with the defender fronting Ben. Defensively, he was solid as usual, even getting Saran wrap-tight on Kawhi Leonard one possession. As an added bonus, Embiid had the outside shot working, going 3-4 from downtown, hitting a triple that brought the Sixers briefly within 6 points in the fourth quarter.

Robert Covington: 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals, 2 blocks
Covington tied for a team-worst -17 plus/minus, but that stat isn’t indicative of the strong effort from the Sixers forward. RoCo efficiently shot the basketball, finishing 4-8 from three-point range, but his defense was even more impressive. Time and again, Covington reached his hand in to knock the ball away from a Raptor who had just come down with a rebound or was being overly careless with his dribble. No turnovers on a night the Sixers had 23 giveaways as a team was also a plus.
Landry Shamet: 8 points
Shamet shot 2-6 from behind the arc, but he gets the nomination mainly for this move:
