According to Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes, Ben Simmons plans to play in tonight’s game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks:

Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons plans to make his return from back tightness in Wednesday night’s road game against the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Simmons, 22, is expected to go through a pregame workout before making a definitive decision, but the intention is for him to rejoin the starting lineup against the Bucks , sources said.

Last season’s NBA Rookie of the Year hasn’t played since he left the first quarter of Saturday’s victory over the Orlando Magic with tightness in his lower back.

This is good news because without Simmons, the Sixers would be hard pressed to defeat the Bucks, as the Sixers already have a few things going against them:

  • The Sixers are away
  • The Sixers are on a back-to-back
  • The first leg of the back-to-back (@ DET) went to overtime
  • The Bucks have Giannis Antetokounmpo
  • Ben Simmons is one of only two Sixers that can adequately defend Giannis

Call your bookie, tell them you didn’t mean to send that Bucks text earlier.
