Joel Embiid is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Joel Embiid has some new hardware to add to his numerous Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month trophies and his All Star Starter...certificate? Do they get anything? I’m sticking with certificate.

The NBA has just announced that Joel Embiid is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of between Monday, Jan. 15 and Sunday, Jan. 21. He also won the award for the exact same week last season (Jan. 16-22, 2017). The January Sixers are real. During the week of this season’s award, JoJo posted averages of 29.7 points, 12 boards, 3.3 assists and 1.7 blocks (shooting .542 from the field and .815 from the line), while the Sixers went 3-0.
