Best trade I could think of.

The more I've thought about the Sixers acquiring Kemba Walker, the more I like the idea. The one thing really missing from this offense is a ball handler who can create his own shot. I've loved watching Kemba since the Big East conference tournament, when he led UCONN to not only the Big East title, but the National Championship during that year's march madness. He's grown significantly in the NBA and even with sub-par pieces around him, before this year, he had brought a level of respectability to Charlotte. He's on a great contract and would also be a huge mentor and teacher to Markelle Fultz as he learns to run an NBA offense. He would also allow the Sixers to be more patient with Markelle and not rush him along too early and risk any (more) confidence issues.

The problem with acquiring Kemba, though, is what we'd have to give up or take along with him, as Charlotte has some big contracts they're trying to unload. So, as any NBA Trade Machine guru would do, I looked to add a third team. I tried some, but nothing ever really worked. If the money worked, the trade was too lopsided, and if the trade was even, the money didn't work. As I was trying to figure out how Sacramento might work as the third team, though, a brilliant idea popped into my head.

George Hill. The Cavs want George Hill. So let's add a fourth team! And here's what I came up with:

The 76ers receive: Kemba Walker. On a team-friendly 2 year deal worth $12 mil/year.

The Cavs receive: George Hill. Two-way guard that makes just about any team better. LeBron would be happy.

The Hornets receive: Amir Johnson, Jae Crowder, Iman Shumpert/JR Smith (whichever, really), though I'd think Iman would be the one both teams would rather give up/take, Cedi Osman, Brooklyn's 2018 FRP (from Cavs), 76ers 2018 & 2019 SRPs.

The Kings receive: Nicolas Batum, and Sixers draft picks (details below)

So, the picks I would propose going to the Kings are: Lakers 2018 FRP (top 8 protected), if not conveyed, the Kings 2019 FRP (top 5 protected and if not owed to the Celtics), if not conveyed, the Sixers unprotected 2019 pick (if not owed to Celtics), if not conveyed, Sixers unprotected 2020 pick. Plus, the Nets 2018 SRP and the Bucks or Kings 2019 SRP, whichever is better.

I think this deal is pretty fair overall, giving the Hornets some cap space for the future and Kings ample space to rebuild through the upcoming drafts. I think this is a move that helps the Sixers a lot this year, and if it doesn't work out, Kemba will most definitely be worth something at the trade deadline next year, which would give the Sixers an opportunity to regain some of the assets they would give up in this trade. And the Cavs, who would benefit tremendously with an upgrade to the backcourt and give some IT insurance as well as fit perfectly with LeBron.

So what do you think?
