THANK YOU BASED GOD
Sixers now improve to 7-1 since receiving the Based God’s blessing, and are 1-0 in the James Young era.
And even without Giannis, Brogdon, and Jabari… the Sixers still managed to throw away a third quarter lead but they relentlessly fought back to build their lead back up, and eat a W.
Joel Embiid finished with a game high 29 points along with 9 rebounds in 32 minutes of work. The All-Star went 11-19 from the field and added 2 blocks to his solid performance.
Ben Simmons was damn close to a triple double as he ended with 16/8/9. He continues to get in to foul trouble too often which limits his playing time, but that’s something that’ll decrease with experience, and a gaining of respect from referees.
The Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot haters are silenced for now, as TLC showed up tonight putting up 16/3/2 going 3-5 from deep and +21 on the night. That was huge for the Sixers as they were without JJ Redick and Jerryd Bayless. Not only didn’t TLC find his stroke, he also showed he has the tools to become a lockdown perimeter defender.
TJ McConnell was electric off the bench (obviously) as he out gritted Matthew Dellavedova for 11 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals (Delly finished with 5 points and 3 assists, and was a game low -15).
Dario Saric also had a solid night as he posted 13 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds and 2 way contract signee James Young contributed 4 points to the winning effort.
The Giannis-less Bucks made things interesting as they clawed back in the 3rd quarter, but the Sixers made sure they kept the good mojo in South Philly as both them, and the Flyers secured wins on the eve of the NFC Championship.
Next game for the Sixers is Monday in Memphis at 8:00 pm. Go Birds.
