After a lot of commotion from the voters on the first go-round, you had your chance to change the outcome with Malik Monk in the mix. But you didn’t, and Josh Jackson ran away with the No. 3 spot on the community big board, taking in 49 percent of the vote.
The margin changed slightly, but in the end Jackson’s talent was too much to pass up, and I respect the decision. Now, you’ll have to sift through a crowded field of candidates, with no slam-dunk winner on the list. There are arguments for best fit (Malik Monk), defensive upside (Jonathan Isaac), scoring (Jayson Tatum), and so on. How you parse through this group probably says a lot about your team-building philosophy.
The regulars around here know who my guy is today, because you’ve seen me singing Isaac’s praises for months. But I don’t think anyone should be speaking with certainty on this crop of players, because each and every prospect on the ballot has significant flaws to deal with at the next level.
We’re adding French guard Frank Ntilikina to the mix today, because why not? The dude might turn out to be a freak of nature.
Told by exec scouting Ntilikina his wingspan is 7'1". Would make him 10 inches longer than Dennis Smith, 7 longer than Fox.
