The Sixers are one of a handful of teams expected to interview Markelle Fultz, the projected top pick in next month’s draft, at this week’s NBA Combine, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
Markelle Fultz expected to interview with several teams here in Chicago -Boston, Phoenix, Lakers, Philly, Sacramento & NY, source told ESPN.

Fultz attending the combine itself is a little surprising. Players assumed to be going first overall in the draft typically don’t attend the combine with little to prove in terms of talent to teams. Several other big-name prospects will sit out the event altogether, including Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, Jonathan Isaac and a few others:
Sources: Possible top pick Lonzo Ball formally informed NBA today he will skip the Draft Combine. Several top prospects expected to do same.

Sources: Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Lauri Markkanen, Jonathan Isaac, Dennis Smith, Malik Monk, along with Ball, skipping NBA Draft Combine.

Regardless of the plans of the rest of the class, the Sixers will get an early chance to speak with a guy who could be a franchise-changing guard for them if the lottery shakes out in their favor next Tuesday. The Sixers didn’t exactly blow Fultz away when the young guard was in attendance during a late-season game against the Nets, and Sixers brass will get to start fresh with a player they’ll hope to be in position to select.
