In an interview on NBATV Tuesday night, NBA.com reporter David Aldridge asserted that Sixers center Jahlil Okafor “will be moved” before Thursday’s trade deadline.
“He will get moved, I can tell you that,” Aldridge said on NBATV’s Game Time Tuesday night. “They’re not going to go into next season with him on the roster and they’re not going to finish out this season with him on the roster.”
Aldridge referenced the newly-Magical Los Angeles Lakers as a team that has been interested in Okafor previously and may still be interested, and also said other teams may emerge as possible landing spots, including the Sacramento Kings.
“I’m not ruling out other teams like Sacramento, maybe, as well, who now can offer more minutes and more opportunties for big men now that Cousins is gone,” he said.
Aldridge also referenced reports earlier today of Indiana being a potential suitor.
“That makes sense for a first round pick,” Aldridge said. “(But) I think there’s other deals out there as well for Okafor, I dont think that’s done yet.”
“They’ve got a lot of offers to sift through,” he added. “Indiana is one of those.”
As a friendly reminder, the NBA trade deadline is Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. Plan your Twitter habits accordingly.
The Sixers have trades to make. Who's likely to be out the door?
