Wow, just in time to tune into the 700 Level Show at 5:30 PM and see me discuss if Okafor will be traded this year.
According to near simultaneous Wojbombs and Shamslams, the Sixers are sending Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas, and a 2nd round pick (the Knicks pick, sent via the Magic in the Anzejs Pasecniks deal) to the Brooklyn Nets for Trevor Booker.
Deal includes Sixers sending a 2019 second- round pick via Knicks to Nets, league source says. https://t.co/qNoL7TavR6

As a side effect, the Nets will release former Sixer Sean Kilpatrick.
The move immediately does a couple of things: First, it finally lays the Okafor saga to rest. Second, it send Nik Stauskas - who wasn’t playing at all this season, and when he did it uh....wasn’t great - to a team where he might actually play. And finally, it brings the Sixers Trevor Booker, who is averaging 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 22 minutes a game this season. Booker is also on the last year of his deal, so no long-term money - a sticking point for the Sixers - was taken back.
We’ll have more on this in a bit, but I would like to formally thank the Sixers for doing this deal now and not in an hour when I will be at a rehearsal dinner with my phone going off 100 times.
