Sixers vs Lakers: Start Time and Game Preview

Embiid and gang vs Lonzo part II

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers at Los Angeles Lakers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Lakers are in town to face the Sixers tonight. In the teams’ first meeting on November 15th, the Sixers squeaked out a 115-109 win with Joel Embiid having his best game as a professional. 46 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and 7 blocks was the big man’s line on the night, absolutely dominating every aspect of the game. The “savior” of the Lakers didn’t have as great of a night: Lonzo Ball shot 1-9 for 2 points along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. He was benched in the fourth quarter as the Lakers were forced to play catch up.

Lavar’s son is going to get booed out of Wells Fargo Center tonight, and that is putting it lightly. All of the trash talk between Joel Embiid and the entire Ball family before the season has been leading up to this game, and Embiid may just have his top tier trolling game in full effect.

Since the loss to the Sixers, the Lakers are falling apart and have a record of 2-6, while the Sixers have been up and down. Injuries are hurting the team, as it is becoming painfully obvious how much TJ McConnell means to the team without him available. Both Embiid and Ben Simmons have needed to take increased roles on the team, and so far it has been working. The Sixers and Lakers are two of the youngest teams in the league with tons of upside. Fans should get used to seeing this matchup, because there’s a chance both of these teams will be running the league in a few years.
