Last night, Sports Illustrated hosted their Sportsperson of the Year awards at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. During the ceremony, Colin Kaepernick, J.J. Watt, Carlos Beltran, Maya Moore, and others received awards from Beyoncé, Trevor Noah, Michael Strahan, Carmen Yulín Cruz and more. Joel Embiid was presented SI’s Rising Star award by Philly’s own Questlove.

He walked the red carpet too, which gave us this interview, and that incredible picture of him standing next to Jose Altuve above:

The Sportsperson of the Year Awards will air on TV for the first time this year, debuting on NBCSN and on Univision Deportes Network at 8 p.m. ET December 8th and December 9th, respectively. Until then, I’ll be staring at that picture of Embiid and Altuve.
