With every new generation of injury for the Sixers, the situation evolves. Joel Embiid may have missed two full seasons with his foot, but nothing, and I mean nothing in his recovery was this odd:
This is from legit three-point range with Fultz’s left hand pic.twitter.com/lhCXTKqd7I

That’s right-handed, right shoulder-soreness’d Markelle Fultz shooting a legit NBA three left handed. And it was not a fluke:
To be clear: if he had done this once, i wouldn’t have bothered sharing. Every shot outside the paint he has put up has been left handed. https://t.co/LkO2KOBGjr

Brett Brown said later that there’s nothing to read into here but I’m going to do it anyway (sorry Brett). I get that just because his shoulder is sore they don’t want him to not train and practice, but in what way does shooting lefty benefit anything? If you want him to finish drills in rhythm with a shot, like, too bad I guess? It’s weird. It’s weird as hell, and I don’t understand it. For once, just once, I’d like an injury (or “not” an injury or whatever) to be an injury and then the player sits out the required time and then they come back and they’re okay. Like Richaun Holmes. Can everybody please be Richaun Holmes? Don’t we deserve this by now? In solidarity I typed this post only left-handed. It took forever.
UPDATE: I mean, yeah, but it’s still weird.
Fultz is cleared for other work (which we saw) like layups with his dominant hand, but there are no plans to switch his shooting hand
