Joel Embiid’s injury recovery has been yet another saga of behind-the-scenes drama and purported weight fluctuations. Reporters began to attribute contract disputes to some level of team dissatisfaction with Embiid’s commitment to recovery, even asking him at Media Day whether his lack of fitness was a factor in the team’s refusal to grant him a full max contract.
Embiid was only finally cleared for 5v5 contact last week, and even then, he had not been cleared for full court scrimmages yet.

Amidst all this, it was encouraging to see late night video emerge of our star big man on a jog through the streets of Philadelphia, putting in the time to get game fit before the season starts. A Lyft driver caught a glimpse of JoJo jogging through the city, and reacted the way any Process fan would— with a TTP greeting and a sincere, “I love you!”

Embiid reacted as he always does, arms raised and cheering to Trust the Process.
Legend.
There was a second sighting last night too.

Looks like he’s putting the work in to get to where he needs to be by the time the season starts.
