Earlier today, Markelle Fultz’s agent told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that his client “had fluid drained from the back of his shoulder.” It turns out, according to a Woj update, Fultz actually got an injection of cortisone. It was liquid in, not liquid out. Agent Raymond Brothers told Woj that his “intention...was to let people know he’s been experiencing discomfort [and that they] will continue to work with Bryan Colangelo and the medical staff.” Cousins said Fultz received the shot on October 5th.
October 5th is also the first day Fultz’s shoulder soreness showed up in the injury report. He then sat out the preseason game on October 6th. A team official confirmed that Fultz should not miss time and will be undergoing a treatment of physical therapy.
